Open Shift Management

Open Shift Management, in its simplest form, refers to methodologies employed to find someone to cover a job opening on a shift.  This opening typically occurs because of one of the following:
  1. Changes in workload
  2. Vacations
  3. FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act)
  4. STD (Short Term Disability)
  5. LTD (Long Term Disability)
  6. Sickness
  7. Jury Duty
  8. Military Service
  9. Unplanned absences
  10. Personal days
Many of these can be planned for and many cannot.  No matter which, someone has to go to work and find a way to cover the opening (s).  Depending on the size of your workforce, this can be a single opening or  dozens of openings.

Shiftwork Solutions has partnered with Shifthound to create a software tool for managing these open shifts.  Imagine a program with all of the information you need to fill a shift at your fingertips.  It tracks absenteeism.  It allows you to post overtime opportunities on line.  It allows your workforce to get real time notification sof overtime opportunities, vacation approvals and changes in workloads.
